Show Format
– 7pm A variable collection of 70s & 80s dance floor hits to prepare you for your Saturday night
: 8pm Ten from then (last weeks selection below) listener selects 10 records from their memories of club classics from the 70s & 80s they can vary from Motown and Soul hits to great club hits of the time, e mail your selection.
: 8.30pm Night Train, see if you can workout the answer to my music question correct entries are put into a draw and just before 8.30pm a winner is selected and receives a cd.
.30 : 9pm The Quiet Storm, 30 minutes of mellow classics a selection of songs the dj in the clubs throughout the 70s & 80s would have played just before he played the love songs, though many of the songs featured in this very popular section are regarded as classic soul ballads.
:10pm A pocket full of soul & motown, this is where the show takes on a very different dimension for the final hour a quality selection of soul & Motown hits, also included in this hour a couple of soul rarerities plus some northern soul memories, and the classic 12inch single in it’s entirerity, the emphasise on today’s dance hits is more about the remix, back in the 70s & 80s it was about the extension of the record for the dance floor, which is why it became a great tool for the dj to use, we select the songs from listener suggestions and play one in full each week.
